This week, our Honors Geometry classes are working in teams of three to develop a project.
The topic? THE GOLDEN RATIO in Nature, Architecture, Art and the Human Body. This week, I will post examples of exemplary student work on this blog. Fascinating topic!! We truly hope our students learn about the beauty of math and the power of the Fibonacci sequence and the Golden Ratio.

James from block B here. I remember seeing both Fibonacci's sequence and the Golden Ration last year in Advanced Applications, and I found both incredibly interesting and the shapes they created to be beautiful. After watching the links in this post and a few of the related videos, I now see just how much Fibonacci's sequence and the golden ratio appear in nature and in all architecture. These two mathematical patterns show up everywhere and create some if the most interesting patterns in the world. I wonder if there is some sort of evolutionary advantage to developing a pattern involving either of these two mathematical phenomena. All in all a very interesting topic that I hope we can research more in class.
