RMHS Math Teachers

Dear Reader,

Yes, we love our department! Back at the holidays, Mr. Moscariello had the idea of getting us team shirts for Team Math at RMHS. We're a close group, genuinely liking each other, working together and on occasion, teasing each other! (Can you say daily?!) I think students feel the warmth and humor when one of us is caught by surprise on a practical joke or, even, an unsolicited hug from a colleague that may happen in front of the students. One observant 5th period student said to me recently, "Mrs. Fitz, you guys really like each other." Yes, we do, most sincerely.

On Fridays, we try to wear our Math Shirts for team spirit. [Psssssst....I think the other departments might even be a little jealous! ;-) ] So, if you happen to see us in our red and black shirts, we're proud -- and sometimes loud! It is a pleasure working in such a smart and cohesive group. Students, what do you think when you've seen us in them? Do you know what the numbers on the arms signify?! Let me know by leaving a comment.

I would say the best part of the picture is Mr. Moscariello wearing Mrs. Fitzpatrick's lanyard... if you look closely!

This is Margaret from period 5. I think that the math shirts are a good idea and show that all the teachers are a team and work together. I remember that Mrs. Fitz said there was the year that the teacher started teaching at RMHS, but I'm not sure if its the one on the sleeve.

It's Katelin from period 4

Its really easy to see how close the math teachers are. My favorite memory was when you and another teaher (I don't know who) were making a toy tank run over piles of books in the hallway! I think the t-shirts really show that you all enjoy being math teachers! They're really cool! I think I also remember what Margaret was saying. The numbers are the year you started working?

This is nick from period 5. I think the shirts are a great idea and it is very easy to see how close the math dept. is. You seem to get along well and i can tell that you like to joke around (or at least Mrs. Fitz does). It is also easy to see that you coordinate our learning well so that we all learn the same topics but with a bit of variety.

This is Jill from period 5 and i agree with everyone above that said the shirts are a good idea. It shows that the math dept. is working together and shows off how long theyve been teaching by the numbers on the sleeve?

This is Zack from period 4. The math shirts seem like a fun little thing that the teachers get to involve themselves in every friday. It's almost like each math teacher has their own team "jersey". Maybe one day you guys can make thousands of shirts for all of your fans to buy. Haha.

This is Parker from period 1

It is easy to see that the math department is one of the most close-knit groups in the school. I don't know all of the math teachers but when everybody is wearing their shirts I often see groups of math teachers talking. I know Mr Moscariello from baseball and I know that he is big into being a part of a team. I think that this was a good way of showing that the math department can't work as efficiently separately, but works better together as a team as most groups do.

This is Nicole from period 4. I think the shirts are a good idea. They show the unity of the math department and they show that you guys work as a whole. I think the numbers on the sleeve represent how long you have been teaching.

This is Brendan from period 5. I think the shirts were a great idea. It seems like the teachers in the math department are closer to each other than the teachers from the other departments. Unfortunately, i don't remember what the numbers on the sleeves even say, but i will look this Friday.

This is Katherine from period 4. I think the number on the side of the shirts represents the year you started teaching. I think making the shirts was a clever idea. They show that everyone in the math department are very close friends with eachother.

This is Erin from Period 5.

I love the shirts the math department has! It reminds me of a team with their jerseys because the math department frequently has to work together like a team and it is cool how the t-shirts can symbolize that. It's great that the math teachers are all close because that makes it easier for them to work together. I think the numbers on the shirts, symbolizing the year each teacher became a part of the RMHS math department, is creative and cool! I also think the shirts are a great way for the teachers to express their love for teaching and the subject.

I agree with thee above... t-shirts show unity and so forth. I feel that math teachers are especially deserving. This is because I feel that math teachers are more involved and enjoy what their teaching... more so than teachers from other subjects. Also, I've noticed that math teachers communicate more than others do.

I am actually a math t-shirt owner myself. It reads "Math is Fun!" in large, funky font with a rebellious tilt. I wear it every summer solstice.

Hi this is Andrew from period 1.
I think it is kind of cool seeing all the math teachers in the math shirts. It shows their unity and teamwork. I have found that the Math Department is much more united than most of the other subject departments for whatever reason. The numbers that show the year that each teahcer arrived at RMHS gives each teacher's shirt its own uniqueness, if thats a word, to their shirt.

Hey this is Avery. I also think the math shirts are a good idea. They let people which teachers are part of the math department. All of them seem like a very close group that truly enjoy working together. I think it's cool how these teachers are not only colleagues, but friends.

I like the shirts the math department wears every friday. I think that they are a good idea and that some of the other departments should try it as a way to bring them closer together like the math department is. the numbers on the sleeves represent the year the teacher started teaching in the math department at rmhs.

I have noticed quite a bit of collaborative work between the math teachers like the live webcast was a joint effort from both mrs fitz and mrs birk who together made it possible, and the switching of roles for a little while when mrs dee taught our class for a month or two

Ashley, per 5
I think the shirts are a fun idea. I never reallynoticed there were numbers on the sleeve so I will have to check that out. I agree with most other kids in that of seems like the math teachers are very collaborative and team-oriented moreso than other teachers in say foreign language or history. It shows you are friends too, not just trachers who have to eat lunch together in the math office!

This is Alison from period 5. I really think that the t-shirts bring the math department together as a team. It shows the team spirit and how the math department works together to teach. Like Ashley, I never noticed the numbers on the sleeve, so i will have to look at that too. I think it is great to have a team of teachers instead of just one because you can all put your ideas together.

This is Brenna from period 4. I think the math t-shirts really are a good idea. They show that the math department gets along and they can work together, which you can't say about all teachers. I think the numbers represent what year each teacher started teaching at RMHS.
