Feedback on Your Blog Comments

Caption: This image on the left is a shot I took last week at Heritage Plantation in Sandwich, MA. It is a famous spherical water fountain ~ geometric and beautiful.

Hi Students,
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your comments on this blog! You are so insightful and articulate. I think any issues you had with posting the comments are now fixed. Is this true? Do any of you still have any difficulties when you try to post or view comments to this blog?

As I read your comments, I've noticed a few of you are a little worried that the screencast project is worth 200 points for 4th quarter. Actually, this is a VERY good thing! If you continue doing the work the way I am instructing you, and at the pace I am instructing you, I am sure you will do very well. The key will be to not let it pile up and, to doing your fair share within your group.
First due date: This Friday, May 8, 2009. Item: Typed draft of your script, complete with team members' names and tricky steps identified.

Next due date: Friday, May 15, 2009. Item: First version of your Jing screencast -- more on this in class.

Hi, This is Mrs. Fitz, typing in Period 1 to show how I have comments set up now. It should work well now.

To answer your question, no, I don't have trouble posting or viewing blog comments.

About the project, I think that it we have a good start to it but am unsure about the recording aspect. I don't have Jing on my home computer and am afraid that we will run out of time because we will have to record multiple times to get a good copy of the recording. I trust when you say that we will do good I am just worried about how long it will take.

Hi. This is Micayla from period 4.

I have not had any problems adding my comments to this blog.
My biggest worry about this project is the recording. I think that it will take my group a few times to get it just right, without any pauses or mumbles. I think that if we try hard enough and focus we will be able to get the recording just right. Hopefully the final product will be easy for the viewer to understand and follow.

I don't have any problems commenting on your blogs. I think that the hardest part of the project will be making it understandable for the viewer. Our steps will have to be very thorough and easy to follow. It will take a lot of hard work but in the end I think our project will come out great.

Hi, it's Zack from period 4.

I have not had any problems with accessing the blog or leaving comments.
As to problems concerning the project, I am concerned about the amount of time that it will take to write out all the steps of the three trig functions and their respective inverses. Hopefully, it won't take as long as I'm thinking it will and my group will be able to successfully move forward with the viral aspect of the project. I feel that the narration will be fun.

I am having no problems to answer your question, it is great to be able to write on this blog and answer questions outside of school.

On to the project: I am kindof worried about the due dates for our group especially, one member in particular will not be capable to help this week because of his surgery (period 1 knows what I mean). With one key group member down, I am still hoping that all will work out with enough time to put on a great project.

THis is Julia from Period one. I have not had any problems with the blog, but am worried about recording it in class. I just downloaded it on my computer, and it seems kind of difficult to use. I am a little worried about how long it will take to record, and I am not sure that my group will be able to have a full copy of the screencast done by next Friday.

Hi this is Alexandra from period one.

I can view and comment on this blog without any problems at all

I'm on the same page with Julia, since I'm not used to the software I think it'll be challenging to do it all in a time constrained class. That's my biggest worry.

I also think getting the script complete will take a long time and since my group member's are all on different schedules and with events approaching I think getting everything done will be a challenge.

No i dont have any problems leaving comments on your blog.

what im most worried about is having enough time to actually get together and do the screencast if we run out of time in class to do it because my group members havbe very conflicting schedules and it might be hard to get together to finish it outside of school.

This is Katherine from period 4. I have not had any problems comenting to your blog.
On the project, what I am worried about is getting our whole group together outside of school because we all have different activities going on. I am also worried about making the video because I have never used the software. Hopefully the final project will come out great.

To get onto this blog i have to change the url's / to a .
I am nervious about how little time we have had to accomplish work. So far my diligent group has not achieved much and we are all busy living on four different sections of Reading. I hope we wont rush and do badly.

Avery, period 5. Yea, I dont have any trouble posting comments on the blog but whenever I click on the link to the site, I have to change one of the / to a .

hi this is Jason from Period 1.
I don not have trouble commenting on your blog. About the project I am worried that there is not going to be enough in class time and since we do not have jing at home we will not finish on time. Otherwise I think my group is doing well.

This is Jill from period 5. I dont have any trouble posting or viewing this blog.
I'm not really that nervous about the recording because most of us are probably in the same situation and havent done something like this before. and my group is about half way done with the script so im feeling pretty good about that because we can finish it in our study tomorrow.

This is Brendan from period 5. I have found that the hyperlink to the blog from my classe's edline page does not work but the other classes' pages do. About the projects i am a little nervous that we will not have enough time out of school. Although, i have recorded my voice for projects in other classes.

This is Erin from Period 5.

I haven't had trouble posting comments on the blog it is easy to view my classmate's comments as well. The only problem is the link from the edline page. To get to the actual blog, I had to re-type the link to the blog myself.

I'm not too worried that the project is worth 200 points for this quarter. I think that since we will pass in a draft of our script to be checked that there is really no way we can mess that part up. However, if we do, we can fix the problems before we make it a screencast which is really helpful to the final project. Also, I think the members of my group are doing a great job at splitting up the workload of the project. Since we have due dates for drafts of our project, I think that it is helping us plan our time and not leave the whole project until the last minute.

Hey this is Jared from Period 4

I have had no problems posting on your blog and I am fairly sure that my group will finish on time but I have a bad feeling it might be on Thursday night.

I don't have any problems posting comments to your blog. About the project, I'm worried that my group members won't be able to meet outside of class because we all have pretty packed schedules. I'm not sure we'll actually have time to work together on finishing the script, one of us may just have to finish it on their own and bring it in for friday. I'm not at all worried that the project is worth 200 points. I think it's a good thing!

So far I have not had any difficulties when reading the blog or posting on it.
I am not too nervous about the project because I think the due dates for the various parts of the project will help us manage our time better. I already know part of the project will be done by Friday, so I won't have to worry about it later.

This is Julia in Period 4, and I've had some trouble with my firewall, but now it is working.

I am not worried about the project, I just hope that my group and I stay at a good pace for working on it, and that we dont run out of time to use Jing or whatever programs at school.

I haven't had any trouble posting, the only problem is the edline link doesn't work. I am also concerned with not getting to meet to work on the projects, this is a problem because i am afraid one person will end up doing all the work. I think that class time is essential on a group project and i don't think we are getting enough of it.

I have had no blog difficulties.

I am very content with the fact that the project is worth so many points. The hardest TESTS I receive, in all honors classes, are from Mrs. Fitz. Its not necessarily the content or the speed that its taught at, but something about the tests I find very difficult.

I am quite worried about having the script done well for the Thursday deadline. Along with the members of my group, I have a fairly hectic schedule. Teeming that with our parents availability to provide transportation, getting together to work will be very difficult.

I also am wishing that we did not have to do the screen cast live. Our work is truly about the final product, and I know that I have ways which could provide a more seamless educational video, utilizing the same software, but adding another program to the mix. It would mean having to spend a chunk of time at my house recording, but I feel as though it would be substantially less because instead of one live take, several takes could be put together, or the project could be spliced up into different portions, easily completed with little worry of messing up. I do not know how feasible an idea this is in terms of the due dates and class time devoted to the project, but I know it would improve my final product.

Hi this is Sarah from period 5.
I was having problems loading the blog at first, but I think it was just an issue with my computer because it is working fine now.

One thing I am a little worried about for the project is that we will need to restart the screen cast a few times, or we will mess up words when we are talking. I think that we will do good on the project in the end. I know that we aren't getting any more class time, but it might be helpful to have 5 minutes at the beginning of class to talk about what needs to be done. I think that we can plan better that way, and we will know what to do at home so that we aren't stressed out the day before it is due. Talking today about the format of the project helped a lot, and I understand the project much better now, so I'm glad we did that.

I think that my group has a good start to the project and I am not worried about the script or anything. The only thing I am worried about is getting everything done in time because I dont have Jing on my computer and it might be hard getting together after school to finish recording. Also, I dont have trouble posting stuff on the blog.

Hi

This is Alison from period 5. I did/do not have any problems with commenting on the blog. I am not as worried about the 200 points anymore. It seems like as long as I work hard and as long as I am accurate, that the 200 points will pay off for me. I think that writing the script will be hardest because it will be tedious and you have to make sure that there aren't any mistakes, so that anyone could recreate your project. I am not sure about using new software, also.

This is Samantha from period 5.
I don't have any problems posting comments on the blog. I agree with Alison about the 200 points paying off for us in the end. I think the hardest part of the project is the script because one little mistake can mess up a lot. I am also a little nervous about using the new software, but I think we will be able to figure it out.

This is Carter from per 1,

I have not had any trouble posting on the blog. It has been helpful seeing yours and others comments. It helps knowing that you are not the only confused one.

So far I havent had many problems with my script or screen cast. My group has been doing pretty well, and I think that we will do very well.

I don't have trouble posting on this blog, but the Edline link doesn't seem to work. At first I was nervous that the project was worth 200 points, but now that we are further into it I think it will be worth it. I am nervous about actually recording the screencast because I'm not sure if we are doing it in class or at home because I don't have the right software.

I havent had any trouble posting on your blog. Also I dont have any problems viewing the other comments either. Our group seems to know what we're doing, so im not that worried about getting the project done on time.

This is Brenna from period 4. I havn't had any problems commenting on your blogs. I'm not worried about how much the project is worth, but I am worried about finding enough time to meet with my group outside of school. As well as keeping up with all of the work so that it doesn't all add up in the end right before it is due.

I don't have any trouble getting on the blog, although if I did I would be able to post a comment saying so.

I'm not really worried about anything on the project at this point except the amount of time we will have time to have working with Jing since no one has it on their own computers and it can be really hard getting four people together at once.

This is Joey from period 1,
I have not had any more problems with leaving a comment on the blog. But as the project goes, I am pretty concerned about how my group is going to get all the work done in time. We all seem like busy kids and one of us is not going to be in school for the bulk of the week due to a medical reason. I hope that we can figure out how to complete this project without a ton of stress on each due date, and that we can do our best on the video.

Hey mrs fitz. I have used Jing before but I think the file format is a little annoying. I think the hardest part of the project will be finding time to get together.

This is Leah from period 5. Now I have no trouble getting onto the blog because you fixed it today in class. I'm not too worried about the project because like you said if we work at the pace that we're supposed to, then we should do a good job. Also my group is working together, so not one person has to do everything.

After class today, I can now easily access this blog and post comments on it as well. My group has made great progress with the project so far. I am a little worried about the 200 points that this project is worth now, but once we get closer to the due date I'm sure that we will become more confident in our work.

Hi everyone this Curtis Sgroi form Period 1.
When ever the word blog comes up in homework I know Im in trouble.
Its just that for me the site will never work,I'll forget, or my computer wil break just to prevent me from from doing the assignment. Dont get me wrong doing blogs are kinda fun, but it almost never works out for me. For this post I had the problem with the url like most everyone but as you can see it worked today. Also I am very excited about the 200 point project. Projects are a great way to show what we learned and have a high chance of geting an A. Onlike tests you can put as much time needed to get the A. This is a great idea to be teested on our cabri knoledge because i dont know how we could ever have a test on Cabri.
