As part of a graduate course I just completed at RMHS, I am reflecting on how my teaching boundaries have been expanded by Web 2.0 technologies. I must say I am starting to truly realize the changes in me, and in my teaching.
With our recent spring-like weather, I visited Long Beach in Gloucester, MA and went for a beautiful walk with my husband and kids. Part of what I was thinking about was the current academic year and all the changes I've tried to incorporate. Perhaps, that's what I love so much about teaching -- there is always something new to teach and someone new to teach it to!
I'm at a point in my instruction where I cannot separate my messages and lessons from the delivery systems, the technologies. I am reminded of a famous quote on choreography. True dance, true art is when you can't see the dance and not hear the music, and not hear the music without seeing the dance. I think I'm there...with my teaching, that is. I can't hear the teaching without seeing the teachnology and I can't see the technology without thinking how I could use it to teach. I'm there, I really am.
What has been the impact on you? What are you teaching and how are you teaching it using Web 2.0 capabilities? Feel free to comment!

Hello Mrs. F....
Love your blog.
I especially love your wish to become fluent in the language of math.
Math is a language. Many times, when people come to the US and don't speak English yet, math is often the easiest subject because they''re already familiar with that language!
